ADA Cosmetics International is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hotel cosmetics. For over 40 years ADA Cosmetics International has been setting standards by manufacturing and selling high-quality body care products for hotels and their discerning guests. Our aim is to make hotel cosmetics an experience for hotel guests with collections for innovative, sophisticated, hearty and mindful hotels. As part of this, ADA Cosmetics International offers hotels a unique wide range of body care products and also creates individualised own brands.

Good customer care and comprehensive service are provided by ADA Cosmetics International with numerous subsidiaries in Germany and abroad, an international sales and partnership network as well its own production facilities. Groundbreaking developments such as practical dispenser solutions with over 1.6 million holders installed together with a pioneering role in issues like sustainability and social action have earnt ADA Cosmetics International a reputation as a visionary and technological leader. Since the takeover of the British company Pacific Direct and Scanamenities from Denmark in 2015, ADA Cosmetics International has expanded its international presence and brand portfolio. ADA Cosmetics International is also pursuing a clear objective for the future: to become the first choice for branded hotel cosmetics as a hotel partner.

It all started with a bar of soap. Trace the evolution of ADA Cosmetics, from one man’s simple yet revolutionary idea, to a global success story.

MAKE IT PERSONAL

In 1979, Andreas Dahlmeyer had a vision – of personalized hotel cosmetics. When entering their hotel bathroom, guests would no longer be greeted with a generic bottle of shampoo and bar of soap. Instead, they would find their stay enhanced by elegantly branded products, perfectly reflecting their surroundings.

Produced in a small workshop, our founder’s first product was a bar of soap, sold in a gold-leafed black box. Soon, hoteliers were able to have the packaging printed with their logo – a simple and highly effective way to communicate their brand. It’s no surprise that the idea was an instant hit.

THE ART OF CARE

Buoyed by this success, Dahlmeyer soon added flacons to the product offer. One of his first lines was named the “Art of Care” – mirroring the philosophy of the company. ADA’s own production was launched in 1982, and steady international expansion followed.

Further milestones in our history include the launch of the groundbreaking Press + Wash dispenser in 1990, the opening of state-of-the-art new production facilities in 2003, and the launch of our first Green Collection in 2009 – a sign of our longstanding commitment to sustainability. In 2015, we acquired Pacific Direct and Scanamenities, further strengthening our international presence and brand portfolio.

1986
Peter Nielsen founds Scanamenities.
1989
The company expands to France and Benelux.
1990
ADA Cosmetics International launches the groundbreaking innovation Press + Wash.
1991
Lara Morgan founds Pacific Direct.
1993-1995
Pacific Direct s.r.o. establishes itself as "Speciality manufacturer of hotel toileries and guest amenities".
2001
Launch of ILLI.
2003
Introduction of new production facilities.
